Sculpture
Antonia’s training in stone conservation at Lincoln Cathedral influenced her artwork, leading her to seek out and learn the skills of stone carving. This she has refined into exciting and original contemporary sculpture, which is applied in the public and private realm.
A particular interest is the role of sculpture in new architecture and environmental planning. Working with a durable material such as stone gives a permanence and lasting quality to new concepts. Each generation leaves a new environmental legacy, which demands a commitment to architecture past and present.
She runs workshops in conjunction with public art projects to involve the local community in decision making and spread the enthusiasm art can generate.
Antonia shows her work through local galleries and is a member of the selected Suffolk Craft Society. In 2005 she became a Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust Craft Scholar, in stone carving.
